Salsa Trail Jalapeno Eating Contest

Rules

- Contestants must be at least 18 years old.

- Each contestant will receive a plate of jalapeno peppers. You may eat only one pepper
during the first minute. You may then eat as many as you can during the next minute,
one pepper at a time.

- Peppers must be eaten down to within 1/8 inch of the cap to be counted.

- You will not be allowed any other foods or beverage during the contest.

- You will be disqualified should you be unable to keep peppers down.

- You can not coat the inside of your mouth with any kind of protective coating.
Anyone caught doing so will be disqualified.

- The winner will be determined by the number of stems on the contestant's plate after
time has been called. You will be allowed to finish any pepper remaining in your mouth
when time is called. Should there be a tie, contestants will be given an additional serving
of peppers.

Release of Liability

In consideration of my entry in the above described Graham County SalsaFest Jalapeno
Eating Contest, I, intended to be legally bound, do hereby for myself, my heirs, my
executors, and administrators, waive, release and forever discharge any and all right and
claims for damages which may here after accrue to me against the City of Safford, AZ,
Graham County Chamber of Commerce, Safford Lions Club, all event sponsors and staff,
companies or entities, their officials, employees and agents of any and all liability or
responsibility arising from any injury received or incurred participating in the Jalapeno
Eating Contest.

I promise to examine the event site and assure myself that the area is safe, and further
agree that I will not participate in the event unless I am satisfied that the area and
conditions are safe, I will further read and comply with all contest rules and regulations,
note existing weather conditions and do agree that I voluntarily assume all risks arising
from conditions related to the event site by myself or others.

Disclaimer

The below information I filled in is correct to the best of my knowledge. I have read the
SalsaFest Jalapeno Eating Contest rules and regulations, if my application is accepted I
hereby give the City of Safford, Safford Lions Club, and the Graham County Chamber of
Commerce the right to use photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings and any
other record taken for this event of me or my team members to be reproduce in any form
for purposes of promotion, advertising, display, exhibition or editorial use without
compensation.

1st prize: $100
2nd prize: $50
3rd prize: $25

Participation Fee: $15
Fee includes two tickets ($8 value) to the Salsa Challenge. No refunds.
